Training for a Protection & Control technician is divided into a series of modules, beginning with year 1 (apprentice) and concluding with year 6 (journeyman). Students will attend a one-week session about every six months. This time interval allows the student to develop this skill set prior to the next level of training.
Courses are instructed by qualified, experienced personnel, using pre-written modules supported by visual and video presentations. Training is a combination of classroom and field-oriented instruction with hands-on demonstration. Students are required to pass a written evaluation test and competency skill demonstration to successfully complete each class.
